You will receive the same American Heart Association Certification Card upon completion as you would for a classroom based training.
HOW IT WORKS
Step One: Purchase the online certification class you need. Initial and renewal students take the same course when it is online. Once you have made the purchase you will receive two emails; first your receipt and 2nd a key-code with subsequent link to the online cognitive learning section.
Step Two: Complete the online cognitive training portion of class when it is convenient for you. When you have finished print your course "Certificates of Completion”. This is not your certificate. You will need to bring this with you when you complete step three.
Step Three: Complete your hands-on skills practice and testing section with one of our friendly and knowledgeable instructors. To complete schedule an appointment by clicking here. Same day cards upon completion*!
Are there different courses for initial or renewal certification?

When will I get my certification card?
With SMRT Online and SMRT Indiana you can get your certification card the same day you complete the hands on skills testing session. Certain restrictions do apply.

Can I take a break while working on an online course?
Yes. You can enter and exit the online course section as often as you need. Your completed exercises will be saved if you logout or are inactive for 30 minutes. But courses that require an online test, the test must be completed in a single session with no breaks.
